El Pónt, PD#24340, 2025
Rocky ridge, metal, 11x 3 x 3 m. The work addresses the latent threat of natural hazards in the Alpine region and gives them material presence. El Pónt, PD#24340 recalls the violent storm and the devastating debris flow (Murgang) that struck the Misox valley on June 21, 2024. Guardrails, railings, and streetlights from the destroyed bridge in Lostallo—recovered during the cleanup—form the core of the installation. In collaboration with construction workers, the deformed fragments were mounted on the rocky ridge between the chapel and the cemetery of Soazza. The result is a site where the picturesque landscape and the traces of its destructive forces stand in stark contrast. ArteSOAZZA 2025
