Spruce on island, 14 x 3 x 3 m.
A spruce tree was placed above the tree line, within the catchment area of Lake Dauben, on a sandbank in the water. As the natural mountain lake gradually recedes, the withering tree lies as if washed ashore on the island, set against the apocalyptic scenery of the vast, black lakebed plain.
Once the spruce has fulfilled its artistic purpose, it remains in place, continuing to merge into the natural cycle. PASSAGE – Kunst am Gemmipass, SAC-Kunstausstellung 2025
